Moto.rp.pl: Ford and Volkswagen strengthen cooperation
Well-known automotive brands are starting another joint venture.
Cooperation between Ford and Volskwagen is not something new. Earlier, two leading automotive market brands supported the production of vans and pickups.
Now, according to the moto.rp.pl website, the American-German partnership is to enter a new level. All thanks to the investment in the startup Argo AI, specializing in the work on autonomous vehicles. Volkswagen will not only invest 2.6 billion dollars in the American project, but will also buy back some of the startup's shares from Ford. This is a very important investment, at the same time showing the direction in which the car market is heading.
The Ford and Volkswagen authorities certainly hope that the funds spent will significantly contribute to the development of new technologies, which may become the foundation of autonomous vehicles in the future.
