The Evolution of the Porsche 964 with RCR Cars

Share

RCR is not just a visual facelift. It is a process that took five years of design and thousands of hours of work. Their journey began ten years ago with the restoration of icons — the Porsche 356 and early 911 models. It was there that they learned respect for engineering, but it is the RCR project that allowed them to fully unleash their creativity.

The Evolution of an Icon: Porsche 964

The base is a 964, but what leaves the workshop is its modern, uncompromising evolution. Each successive car is a step forward. In their latest project, they achieved a curb weight of 1,195 kg (ready to drive, with a full tank). How did they do it? Through obsessive weight reduction.

The entire body — from bumpers to hood to mirrors — is made of certified carbon fiber. Their masterpiece is the rear fenders integrated with the side skirts as a single carbon piece. This solution shaved an additional 20 kg compared to their previous model.

Heart: 375 HP at 8,200 RPM
Under the rear deck beats an engine they redefined themselves. The original 3.6-liter engine was bored out to 3.8 liters.

Mechanics: They installed an ITB system with six throttle bodies, custom CNC-milled aluminum valve covers, and an exhaust system with 3D-printed tips.

Electronics: Everything is controlled by an Ecumaster Pro series ECU, with drive-by-wire throttle (DBW).

Performance: 375 HP propels the car from 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The engine spins up to 8,200 RPM, and to withstand this, the entire fan drive system had to be redesigned from scratch.

Handling Engineering: They don’t build cars just to look at. RCR is designed to handle with surgical precision.

Chassis: Öhlins suspension is professionally tuned on scales, achieving an almost perfect 49% weight balance.

Brakes: Stopping this “beast” is a Brembo system with 355 mm floating discs.

Aerodynamics and Cooling: Nothing here is superficial. The central grille cools the oil (with additional fans), while side intakes feed air to the ITB system and cool the brakes. Even the wipers were repositioned closer together to give the car a more racing-oriented character.

Interior: Aluminum and Carbon
The cabin is free of stock plastics. The entire dashboard is crafted from a single piece of aluminum, hiding a modern Porsche Classic radio with navigation. Their pride is a custom LCD display in place of the tachometer. This is the command center: it shows RPM, digital speed, oil temperature and pressure, and even the current gear. Every touchpoint — from the door handle to the handbrake lever to the steering wheel paddles — is machined from aluminum and finished in leather or Alcantara.

Polish Vision, World-Class Execution
This project is a manifesto of Polish craftsmanship. Each car is a true One-of-One, with its own nameplate and a unique soul
